openRISE Kickoff: A Look Back at Our Successful Launch Event!

On October 24, 2023, the moment finally arrived: we celebrated the official launch of the groundbreaking EU project openRISE! This day marked the beginning of a new era in cellular network location determination and measurement.

The openRISE project, which kicked off on September 1, 2023, sets new standards across Europe and introduces innovative solutions to enhance efficiency in incident-based cellular network determination. Thanks to funding from the EU’s Internal Security Fund, and with the support of our State Criminal Police Office (LKA) leadership as well as the Ministry of the Interior, Construction, and Digitalization of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, we are embarking on an ambitious goal: More technology instead of more personnel, and the creation of an open, cost-neutral cellular network information system for all authorities and organizations with security tasks (BOS).

The launch event was a resounding success, offering exciting insights into the core concepts and progress of openRISE. Our guests had the opportunity to learn about the technical innovations and significant milestones of the project.
