3rd workshop of the openRISE project – hardware platform
On October 10 and 11, 2024, the third workshop of the EU-funded project openRISE took place at the Marine Officers’ Home in Hohe Düne, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Under the title Hardware Platform, the first hardware in Revision 0 was presented—a significant milestone for the project.
The workshop brought together cooperation partners from Sachsen and Schleswig-Holstein, as well as the organizers and the deputy leadership of the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It provided an opportunity to showcase substantial progress and discuss key technical topics. The diverse agenda and intensive exchange set new benchmarks for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Progress and Highlights
The workshop began with an overview of the current project status and upcoming milestone deadlines. The agenda highlighted several exciting topics driving the project’s technological development:
Live demo of the openRISE OS Installer: An impressive solution for installing the openRISE OS on both hardware and virtual machines (VMs).
Presentation of monitoring solutions: Insights into innovative real-time system monitoring approaches.
Tracking solutions: Technologies enabling precise location tracking of measuring devices for reliable traceability.
Traffic data analysis of an M2M modem: Investigation into traffic data for LTE-M and NB-IoT technologies.
Live demo of the interface simulator: A tool that facilitates parallel development of frontend and backend solutions, streamlining system integration.
Project website: A vital step towards greater transparency and efficient project communication.
The workshop concluded with a summary of outcomes, an open feedback session, and the resolution of outstanding questions regarding deadlines and responsibilities. Participants unanimously agreed that the event marked a significant step forward in the successful implementation of openRISE.
A Strong Team for Innovation
The close collaboration between the state criminal police offices of Sachsen, Schleswig-Holstein, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern demonstrates how collective commitment can foster innovative solutions. The workshop underscored once again that openRISE not only delivers technological advancements but also strengthens knowledge sharing and networking among the partners.
